The yoga pose Goddess, also known as Utkata Konasana, is a powerful and grounding pose that is said to have originated from the Hindu goddess Kali. Kali is the goddess of time, change, and power, and she is often depicted in a fierce and victorious pose. Goddess Pose is a great way to connect with your own inner power and strength.

There are many variations of Goddess Pose, but the basic pose involves standing with your feet wide apart, turning your toes out, and bending your knees to lower your hips down into a squat. Your arms can be extended out to the sides or they can be placed on your hips.

In today's yoga video, we will be exploring a variation of Goddess Posecalled Side Body Goddess. In this version, we will be elongating the upper body while we remain grounded in Goddess legs.

When we ground our feet into the earth and reach our arms toward the sky, we discover both physical and spiritual benefits:

  • Improves spinal flexibility
  • Strengthens leg muscles
  • Opens the chest and lungs
  • Improves balance
  • Promotes a sense of peace and power simultaneously
