Why Summer is the Perfect Time to Try Something New

I hope you've been enjoying your summer so far. .. long, lazy days of sunshine and laughter. But did you know that summer is also the perfect time to try something new? Most of us have a little extra time, and all that sunshine gives us some extra energy. But here's one more reason why you might like to try something new this summer - you'll get even smarter!

Trying new activities is good for your body and brain. New activities promote the growth of new brain cells, and being active has been shown to reverse brain aging by as much as 2 years!

Take exercise, for example. Do you walk regularly? Enjoy Zumba? Golf? That’s great! But it’s important for brain health to shake things up from time to time. How about a gentle yoga class?

Did you know that every month I offer a Gentle Beginnings Yoga class? It's the perfect starting point for midlife folks who are brand new to yoga.

  • No experience? No problem! My step-by-step approach builds yoga confidence one basic pose at at time.
  • Not flexible? The truth is, neither am I! But Gentle Beginnings Yoga meets you at your individual starting point and builds from there.
  • Can't get up and down from the floor? No worries! All our poses are practiced either seated in a chair or standing.
  • Worried about the cost? I've got you covered! Gentle Beginnings Yoga is a payment-optional class, so you can either pay a small fee or attend absolutely free!
